ADDING A NEW SIGMA FINGERSCAN OR MORPHOWAVE READER TO YOUR COMMS SIGMA SOFTWARE

Important​

Currently any Idemia Reader (Sigma, VisionPass, or MorphoWave) must have it's security set to 'On Demand' in order to communicate with our COMMS Sigma Software. The 'On Demand' security setting can only be set via Idemia's MBTB Software. If this hasn't been done - Please click on the below link for a download of MBTB and quick instructions on how to change this setting.

The following guide assumes you have already installed

your Sigma Fingerscan or MorphoWave Compact Reader

(if not please see the Installation Wizard)

 

STEP 1. Open your Lauranka COMMS Sigma Software

 

STEP 2. Select 'Setup' from the 'Main Menu'

 

STEP 3. Select 'New' (top-right of screen)

 

STEP 4. Under the Terminal Settings heading, select the 'Terminal No:'. The initial default is '00' (if you have more than one Reader/Terminal select as appropriate)

 

STEP 5. Give the Terminal a name 'Terminal Name'

 

STEP 6. Select the 'Terminal Type' you are using.

Morpho Idema Sigma

Finger Scan Reader = 'Sigma'

Facial Reader = 'VisionPass'

MorphoWave Compact

Handwave Reader = 'MorphoWave'

STEP 7. Select the 'Transaction Format:'. The initial default is 'Lauranka' (if you are going into another 3rd party application please select as appropriate)

STEP 8. Under Ethernet Communication heading, enter the 'IP Address' that you have entered into your Sigma Fingerscan, VisionPass Facial or MorphoWave Compact Reader. (Please note the default port number is 11010. This can be altered in both the Software and the Readers if required)

STEP 9. Press 'Save'.

 

 

STEP 10. To test you are now communicating with your Fingerscan, Facial or MorphoWave Reader) simply press 'Ask Terminal', if the bottom-left hand side of the Screen (under Current Settings) populates with data then your good.

 

 

STEP 10. Finally, if you have more than one Reader select 'New' and repeat the above process.
