SETTING UP SHIFTS FOR ROSTERS

(Lauranka Time Clock Series 3)

This guide will help you setup Roster Shifts.  This allows you to setup the actual Shifts. Once setup these can then be applied to employees via 'Rostering' function on the 'Main Menu'.

If you don't intend to use Rosters for the time being then this option can be ignored.

STEP 1. Open your Lauranka Time Clock Software.

STEP 2. Select 'Setup' from the 'Main Menu'.

STEP 3. Select 'Shifts'.

STEP 4. Select 'New' to create a new Roster Shift.

STEP 5.'Code': Give the new Roster Shift a short name/code.

STEP 6. 'Description': Give the Roster Shift a description.

STEP 7. 'Start Shift': This is the start of the shift and applicable rounding associated with the Start time.

Where:

'Start' = Shift start time

'Before' = The maximum point in time before the shift start time that a clocking will round forward to the shift 'Start' time.

'After' = The maximum point in time after the shift start time that a clocking will round backward to the shift 'Start' time.

e.g. If 'Start' = 08:00, 'Before' = 60, and 'After' = 15

Then any In clocking between 07:00 and 8:15 will be paid from 8:00

If the start clocking falls within this time period then this Shift rule will take precedent over the 'Time Rounding' and 'Global Revision Times' as setup within your 'Group' rules.

STEP 8. 'Start Finish': This works almost identical to the 'Shift Start' but just the opposite.

Where:

'Finish' = Shift finish time

'Before' = The maximum point in time before the shift finish time that a clocking will round forward to the shift 'Finish' time.

'After' = The maximum point in time after the shift finish time that a clocking will round backward to the shift 'Finish' time.

e.g. If 'Finish' = 16:00, 'Before' = 5, and 'After' = 30

Then any In clocking between 15:55 and 16:30 will be paid to 16:00

STEP 9. 'Auto Break': This setting allows you to set an unpaid break after so many hours of continuous work specific to this shift. To activate select the 'Active' to 'Yes', defined the 'Period Before Break', and then lastly select the 'Break Length.

STEP 10. Finally press 'Save' to save your Leave.
